Mas-de-la-Forge
Mas-de-la-Forge is situated at the edge of the historic
Roman spa town of Amélie-les-Bains, famed
for it's natural thermal springs, purity of air and the
stunning mountainous landscape of the Pyrénées
Orientales. For those who enjoy getting away from it all
this friendly bed and breakfast is ideal. You can breakfast
on the sweeping terra-cotta terrace surrounded by mountains
and enjoy the beautiful sight and soothing sound of the
river Tech (which runs at the bottom of the garden). You
can pop down for a swim or a spot of fishing with a picnic
and soak up a little of nature at it's very best. This
bed and breakfast offers secure parking for all guests.

available to guests. Both bedrooms have televisions.

The River Tech - a stone's throw from the Mas-de-la-Forge
This area offers something
for everyone. For the sporting enthusiasts there is walking,
cycling, Canyoning, horse riding, mountaineering and mountain
treks. Amélie-les-Bains is part of Catalonia which
is famed for its fine wines and food, tranquil atmosphere
and sun drenched climate. There are plenty of street bars
and little restaurants to enjoy as well as a casino for
those feeling lucky.
The beautiful town of Céret
is ten minutes away (by car). Only twenty minutes south (by
car) are the seaside towns running into Spain. The drive along
the twisting coastal road features absolutely stunning views.
Argelès-sur-mer is an attractive and lively old seaside
town with long stretches of sandy beaches. Collioure is
one of the best kept secrets of the coast where the Pyrenees tumble
into the sea, creating a series of beautiful bays and rocky headlands
which gives this stretch of coast its unique character.
This area has a fabulous light, popular with artists
and photographers, consequently it has attracted artists throughout
the years including Picasso, Matisse, Chagill and Salvador Dali.
Art lovers will enjoy the Museum of Modern Art in Ceret and
the Dali museum in nearby Figueres (35 minutes by car).
The more adventurous looking for a lively day out can reach
Barcelona in just under two hours. A lunchtime stroll
along 'Las Ramblas' is an experience not to be missed. For
the serious shoppers there is always Perpignan, a large
vibrant Catalan city (35 minutes by car).
