As recently as the 1980s there were only a few riding stables in the Pyrenees but nowadays ridding is available throughout the range, mostly in the foothills. There is a recommended stables in Amélie les Bains itself that offers horse riding lessons to all levels (beginners, intermediate and experienced). They also offer classes in jumping, dressage and care of the horse and equipment.
